Can you share your rainbow with another woman? 🌈

Happy International Women’s Day (kind of!) 🫶🏽

The state of the world today makes me even more scared and worried for women and children. Makes me even more conscious of the world around me.

Women who are already living in dangerous or oppressive societies are even more at risk now the gloves are officially off. Brutal, patriarchal regimes….rage fuelled war mongers….and on and on…

I decided that my way of marking this day is to donate to and share some of my rainbow.

My life may not be perfect - but my god I know of many women who wouldn’t mind swapping with me!!!

To all women out there - stand up and speak out. For those who can’t do that - let us do it for you ❤️

Guess what I’m doing today?

Basically, my day consists of staying at home, in the warm, cooking a lovely roast followed by an apple and rhubarb crumble. 🥧

Sharing this commission above, snapped on the wall of its owner, to bring a bit of sunshine and colour your way if you need it 🌈

Stay warm, stay dry and stay motivated to get rid of the fu***ng patriarchy.

Oh, did I forgot to say, while I’m baking….I’m also cooking up ideas and thinking…..

Is it just me…..?

……..or has 2026 been a bit bloody grey so far!!!! ☔️

I get energy from colour 🌈, probably in the same way your phone feels when you plug it in (I mean, if your phone had feelings!)

Phone; ‘what da ya mean! 🤨’

Yep, it’s sent me crazy 🤣

Anyway, I thought, if the mountain won’t come to mama!!!

Now I’ve got sunshine every time I open my own front door ☀️….and every time I leave the house….well THAT’S just dramatic 🎭

Is there any other way?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Life’s kinda crazy these days isn’t it?

Some days the bad news, sad news, fake news feels overwhelming.

I don’t know how you deal with it but I can share with you how I do.

I do my absolute best to pay attention to the big things….(btw I’m going to stop calling them the little things). To live in constant awe.

Savour that first cup of tea of the day, be grateful when my heating switches on when it’s a cold morning, stare at that beautiful red leaf that’s fallen from my Japanese acer, daydream about what new painting I’m going to begin when I get to my studio in a bit.

It’s all been coming at me lately, over-spilling, hands full, brain full, diary full.

Sometimes that’s ok, it’s how I work….other times….like these times, the nights draw in and darkness falls that little bit earlier, the mornings are frosty even though there’s a bright winter sun…..and I know that I need to slow. And pay more attention to the BIG stuff.

Calmly, peacefully, slow down. Give myself a break, allow my mood to flow….in tune with the seasons….warm, reflective, quiet.

And that’s ok ❤️

Having had barely any time to actually paint lately and missing it, coming down with a full on cold on top of that and feeling rubbish - I had to dig through my (😳) photos and find the sun.

This one was proof to me that sometimes even when you don’t have time to paint as much as you would hope, you can still have fun, be creative and play ☀️👩🏻‍🎨
