Our third Cinema F’el Salon is here, and you better get your finest garms on for this one.
Category is: Betrayal and Belly Dancing.
Illicit marriages?
Workplace sabotage and social climbing?
Some good old fashioned bigamy, feminism edition?
Tick, tick, and tick. We’re screening Emra’ah wa Khamsat Regal, and it’s a mess, honestly.
The icon that is Fifi Abdou stars as Ghazal, a modest gal who climbs from maid to MD, breaking hearts along the way - five hearts, to be exact. Exposing the loopholes in the rigid marital conventions, we see her rise and fall and root for her all the way (kind of).
BOST-FILM IT’S BARTY TIME
And because this film is all about Fifi, we feel it’s only right that this screening is followed by a very especial dance barty, as you’re invited post-film to take to the floor and shik shak shook to some classic Arabic bangers, with a promise of a tacky prize to be won.
It’s catharsis and community and any excuse to shake ass alright?
