Art is… unpredictably! 😃🎨🪣 What do you think of this acrylic pour? I set out for this patriotic canvas with dark red and blue but the white changed everything bringing baby blue and pink hues!

This picture is part of my 🇬🇧 collection and speaks to me of the different cultures in the UK! If one sees it as a clash, a convergence or a creation of something new and wonderful, it is all a matter of personal perspective and opinion 🙌🏻

Happy St George’s Day! Okay, so this is the Union Jack, not the St George cross but it is definitely a good time to post this!

This is a work in progress but as someone who not that long ago realised she collected things with the Union Jack on, I have LOVED my so far 😄🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

And yes I love England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

There are 3 sizes so far to this vibrant collection. The largest (approx A3 size) is out of view, the sweet midi on the easel and the tiniest 1inch easel painted using miniature tools with the character for scale (and general cuteness!).

All originals, these abstract jigsaw themed acrylic paintings on canvas brighten any area and speak on a deeper level too of the ‘missing piece’ or rather the missing peace we so crave. Also of the lack of connection many of us have experienced over this last year. Time to build that sense of community and closeness up again ❤️

Just like a jigsaw I’m attempting to complete this piece! I am using a different palette from usual - a much brighter, vibrant, greeenie turquoise (which I just couldn’t help making more earthy as usual!) and bright magenta and purple hues, with of course a shock of firey yellows in to balance (which can’t be seen in this close up.)

Today I will be looking at the big picture and making some changes that will hopefully make it really stand out in more ways than one 🎨 I want the picture to come alive and pull you in. Is that what you look for in artwork you enjoy?

I love the richness of magenta but the still earthiness of deep turquoise. What colours do you gravitate toward? Do you choose colours based more on trends or have go to favourites?
