Two South London Artists. One Evening.
On Sunday, 20th Sept., we're opening two exhibitions of new work that query the marginal and liminal spaces of the human experience.
Aidar Bekchintaev | 'Marginalia'

Aidar is a London-based artist with a background in political science. His work typically examines power, control and systemic absurdity. But in 'Marginalia', he steps away from the centre towards places where the unconscious gets to breathe.
Think medieval manuscripts where monks drew hybrid beasts and grotesque scenes in the margins, escaping the authority of the main page. That's the energy here: forbidden creatures, wild scenes and chaotic beauty drawn at the edge of intention.
Phil Price | 'Ballerinas and Butterflies'
Exhibition Launch - Phil Price | Ballerinas and Butterflies
Phil is a South London artist and Activities Manager for a charity working with young people and families impacted by complex illnesses and disabilities. His art springs from stories of resilience and achievement against all odds.
In 'Ballerinas and Butterflies', he uses non-traditional materials – screen printing, spray paint, barbed wire, resin – to ask viewers to bear witness to beauty in the everyday, to realise the abrasive as a tool of necessary communication and to reconsider positive possibilities in human interactions.
