This year, I wanted to celebrate Star Wars Day not just with fan art, but with a full-fledged crossover featuring one of the most iconic scenes from “Pulp Fiction”.
Many people are drawn to this scene—the tension, the simplicity of the setting, the contrast between the everyday surroundings and what’s happening. We thought: what if we transported that energy to a galaxy far, far away?
That’s how “Pulp Force” came to be.
Playing the role of “the guy with the suitcase” is Darth Maul. We wanted to show him not as a warrior in the heat of battle, but as a character caught off guard—with a slight, defiant smile, as if he’s still confident he’s in control of the situation.
Opposite him are Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, but in an unexpected take. We kept them recognizable but dressed them in costumes to reinforce the parallel with the original scene. At the same time, lightsabers replace pistols—and the mood shifts immediately: instead of cold, criminal tension, a sense of power and inevitability emerges.
We paid special attention to the details:
— the clutter in the room, which adds life to the scene
— posters on the wall as references to the original film
— small objects on the floor, creating a “frozen moment” effect
— a suitcase with a distinctive glow—as the film’s central secret
And, of course, the vintage comic book-style design with the title “Pulp Force”—as if it were an alternate cover from another universe.
For me, this piece is about the collision of two worlds: the criminal aesthetics of the ’90s and the mythology of Star Wars.
I wonder what other scenes could be reimagined like this?
Hurry up and grab your piece.
