Artisan Village is a community Arts studio based in Sydenham, London, run by a group of local creatives.

We offer affordable day time and evening workshops for kids, teens, adults and families of all ages.

Bacteria, Protozoa and Cells paterna has been the theme this week with our little artist (5-7yr).
They have been inspired by micrographics to do this awesome designs on tubes. This week we are inspired by the artist Yayou Kusuma Fugal pattern!

Bugs done!!🥹🙌🎊
Our younger artists (5-7yr) have completed successfully their bug/insect project, which they feel very proud about. We learnt to trust the process and be patient with adding colour and details.
With this activity they grew more confident with cutting✂️, building up 3D shapes and painting with more precision.
A long process but very worthy at the end!☺️💪

⛺️ Our amazing young artists, aged 5 to 7, have had a blast creating their very own tepees, totem poles, and funky cats inspired by Andy Warhol! They’ve been so inspired by Native American traditions, putting their own creative spin on tepees and totem poles. And let me tell you, Andy Warhol’s cat art really sparked their imaginations, resulting in some truly playful and lively cat creations! 🐱

The elephants in the room. In after-school art club this week our Artisan Kidz are all about the Indian elephants, adding colour to their paper mache sculptures with tissue paper/paint and filling our mural wall with their beautiful illustrations. Stop by and take a peek at the mural wall if you're in the neighbourhood, our young artists are adding more elephants every day!

We've been having an extended tea break with our upstairs Artisan Kidz to kick off our new term of after-school art club! We loved seeing how our young artists filled the space on their tiny tea bag canvases

Our Tuesday night teens are back and we're so happy to see them! At Teen Art Club this week, our secondary school art clubbers started stitching their paper screenprints into cushions and experimenting with watercolours by making folding zines, can't wait to see how they turn out!

🖌 Teen Art Club runs Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8pm and we do a range of fun projects which develop skills in illustration, painting, printmaking, clay, textiles, sculpture and lots more.

✍ Come just for relaxing creative experimentation or bring in your art homework/portfolio to work on, it's up to you. All abilities warmly welcomed!

Did you know we lead creative workshops for businesses? We had a terrific time this week with the fab team at , where everybody learned kintsugi, the beautiful Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold.

Our adult Craft + Coffee mornings led by Pam are a great place to learn new skills and practise old ones. All abilities welcome! Join us Wednesday mornings from 10:30am-12:30pm for relaxing art sessions, friendly chat, chunky biscuits and a bottomless cup of coffee, all for only £5!

We loved welcoming our after-school club kids back into the studio last week! This year we'll be focusing most of our art projects around countries, starting with China. We spent last week with brushes in hand, experimenting with illustration styles and shading techniques using watercolours (older room) and ink (younger room). A beautiful start to the year!

What we did last summer. We had a wonderful few weeks of summer holiday art club sessions, thanks to all the super-fun kids who spent part of their break getting creative with us! We're back to our after-school art club sessions for 5-11 year-olds this week and we can't wait to see what everybody makes this term!
