Three floating pansies, linked together by strands of lapis lazuli, moonstone and citrine.

The pansy has long been a flower of love and remembrance. The stones carry meanings of their own: lapis lazuli is traditionally associated with truth and clarity, moonstone with balance and protection, and citrine with warmth, abundance and energy.

The pansy recurs throughout A Place Time Cannot Touch, a solo exhibition in celebration Georgia Beaumont’s childhood memories of her grandmother’s home in West Wales, and the many things she kept.

Stems wind down the legs, blooms unfurl across the seat, and on the back rest, a single blue pansy.

Until now, Georgia Beaumont has exhibited only paintings. In A Place Time Cannot Touch, her hand painted botanical forms find their way onto domestic objects.

The exhibition returns to the memory of her grandmother’s home in West Wales, and the many things she kept.

Georgia’s new work is a meditative reflection on the affective spaces we hold onto in memory. Precious, eternal and shielded against the slow decay of time. A place time cannot touch.

In A Place Time Cannot Touch, Georgia Beaumont returns to the memory of her grandmother’s home in West Wales: the brook where she swam with her cousins, picnics on the mountain, and rooms filled with the things her grandmother kept.

The pansy takes its name from the French pensée, meaning thought, and has long been a flower of remembrance and quiet love. A recurring motif in Georgia’s practice, it appears throughout the exhibition in her paintings, on painted domestic objects and embroidered into a silk quilt.

A Place Time Cannot Touch is on view now.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us at the opening of Georgia Beaumont’s new solo exhibition, A Place Time Cannot Touch.

Georgia’s Georgia Beaumont new work is a meditative reflection on the affective spaces we hold onto in memory: precious, eternal, and shielded against the slow decay of time. A place time cannot touch.

Drawing on early experiences at her grandmother’s home in West Wales, Georgia presents a selection of new work spanning the botanical paintings for which she is celebrated, alongside a host of domestic objects, including a hand painted chair, room divider, and silk quilt (the latter made in collaboration with Sow Studios), marking a significant departure for the artist, who has until now exhibited only her paintings.

Words by Tom McAllister.

A Place Time Cannot Touch continues until 24th October.
For enquiries, please contact [email protected].

Wilder Gallery is delighted to announce A Place Time Cannot Touch, Georgia Beaumont’s highly anticipated solo exhibition. Georgia Beaumont

Georgia’s new work is a meditative reflection on the affective spaces we hold onto in memory — precious, eternal, and shielded against the slow decay of time. A place time cannot touch.

Drawing on early experiences at her grandmother’s home in West Wales, Georgia curates a selection of new work spanning the botanical paintings for which she is celebrated, alongside a host of domestic objects — a hand-painted chair, room divider, and silk quilt — marking a significant departure for the artist, who has until now exhibited only her paintings.
Across this collection, memory and landscape are bound together, teased apart, and reconstituted anew, conjuring the full emotive richness of a memory-bound space no longer accessible in reality, but which endures as an internal plane of being motivating her work.

Excerpt of words by Tom McAllister.

✨ Join us for the opening:
Thursday 24th September, 6.30–8.30pm
All welcome

Rooted in memory and physical process, Walker’s emotive practice unfolds through a continuous negotiation with materiality. By stitching together panels of canvas, her hand-sewn lines act as both structural seams and drawn marks, forming a visual record of repair, intuition, and shifting inner landscapes.
