As part of the residency Djup Skog (Deep Forest) me, Rebecca Ahlstedt and Seiya Miyazaki had a workshop in Seiya’s forest Ivarsnäs outside of Skattungbyn today. It was a beautiful day that started with a visit to Seiyas studio, continued with a guided tour of Skattungbyn and then some effective hours were spent creating in the forest. I’m deeply grateful to be taking part in this residency.

Mother. She has been around for thousands of years. She is both fragile and strong. She recreates herself over and over again. She even makes a healthy drink combined with tea and sugar. Most importantly she makes beautiful floating magic. Like little insects wings or dried petals if you like. Tomorrow is the final day she is on show at Meken in Smedjebacken.
