Today marks the last day of Mental Health Awareness Week so here are 5 ways that Dance can benefit your mental well-being ❤️

1. Reduces Stress & Anxiety

Dancing helps to release endorphins which are the bodies natural “feel good” chemicals. The vibes are always high at an Empowered Movement class allowing you to release and focus on dancing for enjoyment.

2. Boosts Confidence & Self Esteem

Empowered Movement believes that dance is for everyBody. By learning & performing a routine each week you are allowing yourself to grow and celebrate your own progress in a judgement free zone.

3. Improves Mood & Energy Levels

Physical activities like dance help to increase energy levels and can help you combat low moods. It can also help to reduce restlessness and improve sleep patterns which can have a huge impact on overall mental well-being.

4. Being Part Of A Community

Mental Health improves when we feel we are connected to others. Dancing alongside a community like the one at Empowered Movement helps to build a sense of belonging.

5. Gives You Something To Look Forward To

Booking in to regular classes can help you to create routine as well as excitement through having a positive highlight during the week - especially in stressful times. It also means you are putting yourself first and allowing you to celebrate yourself.

So maybe you should take this as a sign to get yourself to class ASAP. At Empowered Movement we pride ourselves on creating an environment safe for anyone to come and move in as dance is for EveryBody.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week!

To celebrate we wanted to remind you of our ethos & how dance can help to improve your mental health❤️

At Empowered Movement we have formed a wonderful community of individuals. It has built a support system and friendships that extend beyond the studio walls.

Dance is a powerful tool that can help to build confidence whilst reducing stress and helping you to reconnect with your body. Mental health is deeply connected to the spaces we exist in and the people we surround ourselves with. When you feel welcomed, encouraged and supported it can completely transform your relationship with yourself and with movement.

That’s why our mission is to always be able to create a safe space for everybody to enjoy dance without fear of judgement - Dance is for everyBody - it should be something empowering rather than exclusive.

This Mental Health Awareness Week we are championing the power of movement and community - dedicating so much of what we do to our amazing EM Family who continuously embody our ethos & make Empowered Movement what it is❤️

Crying at this 😭 we got there in the end!!!

Our International Dance Day class was too much fun! Shoutout to .xtx for trusting my vision 🔮😂 and the whole group for holding it down!

We are ALMOST free from the bank holiday zone! Next class is this Monday and it’s a special one 🤭🎂 see you there!!!!!
