ICON AWARD RECIPIENT & LIVE PERFORMANCE ANNOUNCEMENT ✨ TONY MORTIMER -EAST 17 🫶🏻

We are delighted to announce that Tony Mortimer – founding member and principal songwriter of East 17 – will be joining us at THIS IS ICON this September, where he will receive an ICON Award and perform live on the night.

As one of the defining figures of British pop music, Tony helped create the soundtrack to a generation with East 17, one of the most successful British pop groups of the 1990s.

With 11 UK Top 10 singles, 17 Top 40 hits and a UK No.1 album, East 17 built an incredible catalogue of music that has continued to resonate with audiences for more than three decades.

Their hits include House of Love, Deep, It’s Alright, Around the World, Steam, Let It Rain, and, of course, the iconic Stay Another Day, which spent five weeks at No.1 and became the 1994 UK Christmas No.1.

Tony’s talent as a songwriter has also been recognised with an Ivor Novello Award, further cementing his place as one of British pop’s most accomplished and enduring songwriters.

This September, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Tony’s contribution to British music and the legacy he has created through songs that remain instantly recognisable today.

Tony Mortimer will receive a THIS IS ICON Award and will also take to the stage for a very special live performance.

A VERY SPECIAL COLLABORATION IS COMING TO THIS IS ICON ✨swipe to see some of the paintings that will be on display.

FASHION X ART

This September, Aurum Fox will bring a curated selection of contemporary art to THIS IS ICON, creating a unique pop-up gallery experience within the event at The Brewery London.

In a special creative collaboration for the night, two Aurum Fox artworks have been reimagined through fashion, with Carina Rose and Worn Not Wasted each creating a bespoke look inspired by the art.

Two creative worlds come together as original artwork is interpreted through fashion and brought to life on the THIS IS ICON runway.

Swipe through to discover some of the Aurum Fox pieces that will be displayed on the night, including the works inspiring our special fashion collaborations.

A selection of Aurum Fox pieces will also feature within our silent auction — but we’re especially excited to reveal that one very special artwork will be auctioned live on the night.

A proportion of the proceeds from the live auction will support This Is Icon CIC, helping us continue to create opportunities, visibility and platforms for emerging talent across fashion, music and the creative industries.

🏆 ICON AWARD WINNER — COLIN SALMON

We are proud to announce that acclaimed British actor Colin Salmon will be presented with an ICON Award at THIS IS ICON, recognising his outstanding contribution to the acting and entertainment industry, and to British culture.

Colin’s distinguished career spans more than three decades, with roles including Charles Robinson in three James Bond films, Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator, Prime Suspect 2, Doctor Who, Arrow and Krypton, and he currently stars as George Knight in BBC’s EastEnders.

Alongside his remarkable acting career, Colin is also a musician and has been a long-standing ambassador for Notting Hill Carnival.

This year is particularly significant as Notting Hill Carnival celebrates its 60th anniversary, marking six decades of music, creativity, community and Caribbean culture in London. Colin’s continued support and connection to this iconic British cultural institution makes this recognition especially meaningful.

On 19 September 2026, during London Fashion Week, THIS IS ICON will be honoured to present Colin Salmon with an ICON Award for his contribution to acting, entertainment and culture.

One of British television’s most recognisable and versatile presenters, Scarlette’s career spans television, property, entertainment, live events and musical theatre.

After eight years performing in the West End, across the UK and internationally, Scarlette moved into television with Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun and has since appeared across Channel 4, BBC One, ITV, Channel 5 and Heart FM.

⭐️ MODELS WANTED – LONDON FASHION WEEK⭐️

THIS IS ICON returns to London Fashion Week on 19th September 2026 for our biggest runway show to date, with 14 designers showcasing — which means we’ll be looking for a fantastic range of models to join us on the runway.

As the official model and talent agency for THIS IS ICON, all runway models for the event will be cast through Buzz Talent.

Buzz Talent is all about creating genuine opportunities for its clients, and registered Buzz Talent models will be invited to attend our exclusive London Fashion Week runway casting on 5th September 2026.

Inclusivity and diversity are at the heart of THIS IS ICON. Our participating designers are required to embrace inclusive, diverse and sustainable fashion, and we want our runway to reflect that too.

We’ll therefore be looking for models across a wide range of ages, heights, sizes, body shapes, backgrounds and looks. There is no single “runway type” at THIS IS ICON — we want individuality, confidence and personality.

Ahead of the casting, models will also have the opportunity to receive runway guidance and preparation from the Buzz Talent team, helping them arrive confident, prepared and ready to give themselves the strongest possible chance of being selected.

Final casting decisions will be made by the individual designers according to the requirements and vision of their collections.
