Over the past few weeks we’ve been working with a few different types of fat dissolving injections including Celluform, Deso and Aqualyx (thanks to ).

All of these products contain an ingredient called Deoxycholic Acid, permanently breaking down the fat cells.

The ideal candidate has stubborn pockets of fat that don’t tend to resolve with diet or exercise.

Some common areas include:
•Double chin
•Bra fat (including back fat)
•Abdomen
•Underarm
•Inner and outer thigh
•Love handles

Pros and cons compared to surgery?
✔️Relatively quick with little downtime
✔️Minimally invasive
✔️Little discomfort

❌Only suited to stubborn fat deposits
❌More than one session can be required

Animation I made about a year ago and thought I should actually post it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Needle vs Cannula
Once upon a time in the Aesthetic World our main dermal filler tool was the trusty needle. Short, sharp, precise…what more could we need?
The downside to needles is that often multiple injections are needed and their sharp tip means that bruising can be a common side effect.
:
Along came cannulas, long, flexible and round-tipped, opening up a whole new range of techniques we could add to our skill-set.
Although a little scary-looking with their long length, cannulas are incredibly useful for areas such as cheeks, jawlines, tear troughs (in fact, almost every treatment area) as they can access a large area from just one entry point.
But by far, their best qualities are the blunt tip and bendy length - rather than penetrating through blood vessels, they tend to bypass them. So yes, that means less risk of bruising (and less risk of the rare but serious complication of injecting into a blood vessel).
:
There’s no one perfect tool, but the combination of needle and cannula have undoubtedly improved our techniques and safety when it comes to filler.

A few of the key moments getting up and running.
What’s really tough when setting up a clinic is knowing what’s worth spending a lot of money on…for us it came down to: great lighting (thank you Delta), storage, treatment beds (still awaiting arrival 🤦🏼‍♀️) and of course our team who worked extremely hard to bring it all together.
Still need some final decor - 🎨 🖼 🪴
The aim was to try to capture a place that felt comfortable - lots of warmth and a homely feel….that’s asides the white/cream couch which I wouldn’t dare put in my house 👩‍👦‍👦🐶

For those who haven’t seen the update on page

🎉THE BOOK ARRIVED🎉

I now have a much better understanding of how long publishers take 🙈

As most probably know, Lee and Raul put a hell of a lot of work into this.

But I just wanted to mention a few other thanks to those who allowed me to use their faces (and scribble on them):

My brother who also took most of the photos (asides those of him!)
My sister in law who is smart enough not to have an Instagram account
And.....the star of the show .ldn who has an annoyingly symmetrical, perfect face ❤️

Thanks team 🍾
