✨Creative Writing Workshop with Anna Johnson✨

✏️Saturday 15th August, 2-4pm RuptureXIBIT

Writing With Time

In this workshop, we’ll explore how we write about the complexities of time, our pasts, presents and futures. We’ll draw on Karen Davies’ essay on ‘The feminist contribution to an understanding of time’ and creative works that experiment with ideas of time.

Through short generative writing exercises we’ll play with time in our own writing. The workshop will offer a nurturing, non-judgemental space in which to take chances and find ways to inspire and enliven your writing practice.

Suitable for all levels from beginners to experienced writers.

✏️Saturday 11th July, 2-4pm

Join Anna for their next writing workshop RuptureXIBIT

✏️Writing with voices

In this workshop we’ll explore the role of narrators and other voices in prose and poetry. As writers, we may choose to write in our own voice, or we may explore writing in someone else’s - a character’s, a narrator’s, a creature’s!

Together we’ll look at texts that play with voice and narration, such as Tania Hersham’s Go On, and we’ll play with these ourselves through short, generative writing exercises.

The workshop will offer a nurturing, non-judgemental space in which to take chances and find ways to inspire and enliven your writing practice.

✏️Suitable for all levels from beginners to experienced writers

Culture Diplomacy Hub Kate Howe explores how violence can be aestheticized-and what that does to our ways of seeing, remembering and feeling.

Rather than offering resolution, Howe’s work opens a space of tension where beauty becomes unstable and looking itself turns into a question.

✨Meet Sally Minns✨
Artist

Sally Minns is a painter who connects to the sensations of the body and the world through performance as process. Inhabiting rather than observing, as she sits within a state of constant transformation, exploring contradictions, uncertainty and the not knowing that arises.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday 16th May, 3-6pm to hear about Sally’s practice as part of the artist introductions at Hettie Judah’s book launch.

✨Meet Abigail Norris✨
Sculptor

Abigail Norris holds the RCA/YSP Graduate Award 2022 and the Ingram Prize 2023, and has been identified as an artist to watch by critic Waldemar Januszczak. Working with domestic materials, latex and musculoskeletal armatures, her practice spans sculpture, drawing, and installation, exploring the body as porous, relational, and cosmologically entangled.

Join us on Saturday 16th May 3-6pm to hear about Abigail’s practice as part of the artist introductions at Hettie Judah’s book launch.

✨Meet Kate Howe✨
Artist
Founder

Kate Howe is an American artist who lives and works in London. “I make environmental installations out of kilometres of smashed, layered waxed Kraft paper, stitching, and hot glue. These spaces, and the large layered oil paintings I make on sutured linen thick with sloppy pours of Damar varnish, reference the Baroque’s obsession with destiny, fortune, violence.”

Join us on Saturday 16th May 3”-6pm to hear more about Kate’s recent work as part of the artist introductions at Hettie Judah’s book launch.
