Jumping in on a busy Sunday with a quick Sunday Inpso for you! I’ve been working with a life coach recently to find more time for the things I love on my life & she recommend this book to me & it’s AMAZING! So here I am recommending this book to you. (&if we know eachother IRL there is a high probability you’re getting a copy for the holidays) the simple tactics this book has given me have revolutionised my working time & more than halved my screen time. I truly am in love 😍

Our Sunday inspo this week is the amazing Gil Scott-Heron. Rarely in my life has an album captivated my soul like I’m New Here did when my dad first played it for me in the car when I was a kid & when I discovered the remix it was game over! Both are going on the desert island discs 🏝
Anyway, please go & listen to both albums & all the rest of Gil Scott-Heron’s discography because it truly is amazing 💿

Thrill Me by Benjamin Percy is a book exploring the art of writing to raise your audience’s heart beat & get them excited to turn the next page. In other words it’s about the art of the thrill & waowee does it deliver on that, It’s the most thrilling theory book we’ve ever read & also provides some fantastic insight into writing your next masterpiece 📝
You’ll be able to borrow Thrill Me, along with a few other writing theory books from the new Culford Library opening it’s doors in October! 📚

This book was recommended to us by the fabulous , go check out her amazing books Madam & The Ruins, they are true page turners 📖

Hey hey, here with another Sunday inspo for ya! This one is near & dear to my heart because it’s my favourite film 🌞 Les quatre saisons d'Espigoule is a semi-fictional documentary about a village in rural Provence. It’s a funny, honest portrait of the village’s inhabitants over the course of four seasons that takes me back to being a kid - it’s the ultimate nostalgia hit for me. What’s your most nostalgic film?

is an Alternative Indie Pop band who often experiment with their live performances. One of my favourite Tiny Desk performances was theirs, taking sounds from bubbles, claps, slaps & splash!💦
When exploring sound for our play these guys are a great example of sound manipulation.

It’s here with a hugely fascinating inspo (what else did u expect?)
I only get the time to read for pleasure once a week. Since Christmas, I’ve been reading Iris Murdoch: A Life which is, if I do say so myself, was an excellent choice. Ms Murdoch (I’m too intimidated to call her by her first name) was a powerhouse writer & philosopher, but it’s been equally reassuring to hear about her personal & professional struggles. If she can go through such a challenging time & emerge stronger, especially in a time when women’s intellectual were so blatantly disregarded, then there’s hope for us all today ☀️
