Lewisham Arthouse Open Studios 2025.

Explore over 40 studios, drop in to our pop-up cafe, artist-led workshops and building tours.

Lewisham Arthouse is a not-for-profit, artist-lead cooperative based in a grade II listed library building in Deptford. Founded in 1992, it provides 40+ artist studios with associated gallery amd worlshop programme.

Loom Room X Green Man ‘25

We had a great time hosting weaving workshops at this year!

Across the weekend, we ran both tapestry weaving sessions with and a communal weaving fundraiser in support of the Gaza medical aid campaign.

We’ll be continuing our fundraiser to raise more money for - more info coming soon!

Calling Participants!

We are calling out for participants for a joint textiles project with .

Interwoven Collective are inviting 8-12 participants from migrant, asylum seeker, and refugee communities in Lewisham to join a free textile project: Threads of Sanctuary.

Threads of Sanctuary promotes belonging, connectedness, and the wellbeing of sanctuary seekers and people with no access to public funds in Lewisham Borough.

Led by a collective of 4 textile artists (Jo Cooper - Sara Kelly - Janine Nelson - Maggie Williams), this project includes a series of 8 weekly workshops, ending with a joint exhibition at Lewisham Arthouse in November/December.

This project offers a space to learn a range of textile techniques, share stories and create together.

Back on the Loom after quite some time away from it.

Being full-time self-employed is challenging - there always seems to be something that takes priority over doing the thing that you love the most.

Any tips from other freelance creatives for managing and balancing work-load - please hit me with them!

Weaving for Gaza

Join us at Green Man Festival at the Loom Room for a special communal weaving drop in, where we’ll create shared tapestries and teach the basics of weaving. No booking or experience needed.

This activity is donation-based, with all contributions going to The Sameer Project’s Medical Campaign — funding urgent medical care in central and southern Gaza, including clinics, treatments, formula, and other essential aid for displaced families.

Loom Room X Green Man Festival 2025!

Join us for a tapestry weaving workshop in the Loom Room, our purpose built mobile weaving space, located in the Craft Area at Green Man Festival.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the foundations of tapestry weaving on our handmade oak frame looms. You’ll be guided through core techniques, from warping the frame to creating your own woven sampler/display frame.

Sessions require a minimum of 1 hour, but you’re welcome to stay longer. Choose between two booking options:

£20: Learn the skills and take home just your finished tapestry
£40: Learn the skills and take home your oak loom and tapestry

Workshops will run during the festival days from Thursday to Sunday, at 11am and 2pm, with 8 participants per session.

You can now pre-book through the link in the bio! Online bookings will close on 14th August and will move to on-site bookings.

Textiles for Palestine, 2025

I was so happy to be a part of this beautiful fundraiser exhibition, alongside so many of my textile peers a few weeks ago. A huge thanks to and for your hard work curating and organising this hugely successful event!

This show raised over £11,000, split between three organisations .

It was also a pleasure to help facilitate worlshops on the Grief Quilt for Palestine by and UCL studjets that marks grief and resistance with stitches.

Do what you can. Donate where you can. Shout wherever you can.

GLASTONBURY - WE'RE COMING FOR YOU!

We have been working hard over the last few weeks, to bring together the once again for .

This year we have such an exciting programme - if you're heading to the festival come and check us out!! We will be open 10 - 5pm everyday in the Craft Field!

Weave with us on the Loom Room and add to the growing communal tapestries or make your own Flags, using old Glastonbury tents, foraged over years, from the festival site .cowan.

This year we have an additional exciting offering - come and listen to our storyteller, Afia Abusham, who will be telling story's and songs of textile histories. Everyday at 11am and 3pm.

We are collaborating with some amazing artists this year and we are so excited to share it with you all!
