The older I get, the more I realise that life isn’t just about what happens to you.

It’s about who you become through what happens to you.

I’ve experienced love, loss, success, disappointment, beautiful people, difficult people, moments of certainty and moments where I had no idea where life was taking me.

But every chapter taught me something.

To give more.
To love deeply.
To have boundaries.
To believe people when they show me who they are.
To stop wasting energy tearing others down and use that energy to build something meaningful.

To choose my partner wisely.
To have compassion for what others may be carrying.
To be intentional about what I give my attention to.

And above everything else…

To build a relationship with Waheguru that the circumstances of life cannot break.

People can come and go.
Circumstances can change.
Plans can fall apart.

But when your foundation is deeper than the outside world, you realise you were never walking alone.

I can’t change the chapters that brought me here.
I can only be grateful for what they shaped within me.

The lessons. The people. The love. The loss. The becoming.

It is all within His Hukam.

It took courage to start Sikhi Match.

For almost 5 years, we’ve been working with Indian singles around the world. Creating something specifically for Sikhs was a bold step, but it was a decision that came from my heart.

Sikhi has made such a profound difference to my own relationship, marriage and the family we are building. I wanted to create something that could help preserve and strengthen Sikh relationships for future generations too.

I know this path won’t resonate with everyone and that’s okay.

May we continue to attract great Sikhs who genuinely want a Sikhi-centred relationship, who want to grow together, and who want Guru to have a place within their future family. 🙏🏽

And when something created with good intentions is met with negativity, I choose not to let it pull me away from the mission.

Because darkness only tries to attack the light.
Our job is to keep the light shining. ✨

Divorce doesn’t have to mean failure.

Sometimes a relationship can be real, meaningful and full of love — and still come to an end.

In Saram Khand, Guru Nanak Sahib Ji speaks about being shaped and fashioned:

ਸਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਰੂਪੁ ॥
ਤਿਥੈ ਘਾੜਤਿ ਘੜੀਐ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ॥

There is something beautiful in the words ਘਾੜਤਿ / ਘੜੀਐ — the idea of being formed, fashioned and shaped.

Perhaps after a relationship ends, the question isn’t only:

“Why did it end?”

Perhaps we can also ask:

“How did it shape me?”

Relationships can reveal parts of ourselves we may never have seen otherwise.

Our haumai.
Our attachment.
Our fears.
Our expectations.
Our patterns.
Our capacity to forgive.
Our boundaries.
Our ability to love.

The relationship ending doesn’t automatically create the growth.

What we do with what was revealed does.

That’s why at Sikhi Match, we don’t believe someone being divorced automatically makes them less ready for love.

Sometimes the opposite can be true.

Someone who has reflected deeply, taken responsibility for their own patterns, healed what needed healing and allowed the experience to shape them may enter their next relationship with far greater wisdom.

We don’t need to romanticise divorce or pretend there wasn’t pain.

But we also don’t need to make someone’s past the label that defines their future.

In Sikhi, perhaps the deeper question isn’t only:

“What happened to you?”

But:

“What did it reveal within you — and who are you becoming through it?”

Two people. One direction. Guru at the centre. ☬
