I’m saddened to hear today we lost a true original in designer Nigel Cabourn , but he wasn’t just a designer; he was a storyteller. Through military garments, expedition wear, workwear, and timeless craftsmanship, he showed us that clothing could carry history, purpose, and soul. His passion for vintage military design and authentic detail created a legacy that influenced generations of menswear enthusiasts and collectors. Nigel built a career spanning more than four decades, drawing inspiration from real people, real adventures, and the enduring spirit of human endeavour.
For me, his work was never about fashion trends, it had substance and I still have love for his mechanic caps and the military vintage style that became a signature part of my wardrobe Such a respect for craftsmanship, history, and authenticity.
Thank you, Nigel, for the inspiration, the attention to detail, and for proving that style can have substance.
