A woman stands alone in a pit of ashes. What happens next is a live resurrection. It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad Madge is a one-woman musical, where 17th Century visionary Margaret Cavendish returns to the living for an hour of stand-up, manifesto, performance art and experimental musical theatre.

💥 CAST ANNOUNCEMENT 💥

We're super buzzed to announce that the role of MADGE in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Madge will be shared between two undeniably brilliant people.

First up we've got the excellent Esmée Cook, who will be joining us as our amazing alternate Madge on the 5th, 8th (2pm) and 10th March.

Esmée trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her credits include: The Lion Inside UK/China Tour (Nicoll Entertainment); Lavender R&D (Lavender Play); A Midsummer Night's Dream (Insane Root); Macbeth (GOOMS); The Kindness of Strangers (Black Bat Productions); Dolores (BOVTS); The Laramie Project (Bristol Old Vic).

Esmée recently appeared on EastEnders and has filmed several short films, most recently 'Break The Cycle' for Film&TV Charity.

Esmée's voice credits include: The Farmer's Wife (Harper Horizon); The Accidental Housemate (Harper Collins).

💥 CAST ANNOUNCEMENT 💥

We're super buzzed to announce that the role of MADGE in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Madge will be shared between two undeniably brilliant people.

Reprising their role is the wonderful Anna Hale, who will be performing on the 6th, 7th, 8th (7pm) and 9th March.

Anna is a singer, performer, comedian, and proud associate artist of PINCHY Theatre.

Anna began performing stand-up and musical comedy in her debut solo show ‘Control Freak’ in October 2023, and has gone on to receive numerous awards and positive reviews. She placed second overall at the Musical Comedy Awards 2024, as well as taking home the coveted ‘Audience Favourite’ prize.

Acting credits include: Amy in ‘You’re Not The Boss Of Me’ (Workshop), Understudy LV / Understudy Sadie in ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice’ (UK Tour), Jessica in ‘London Road’ (Cuba Pictures / BBC Films)

As a singer, Anna made her recording debut as a featured close-harmony vocalist on Julie Cooper’s 2024 album ‘OCULUS’, performing on the tracks ‘ECHO’ and ‘VANISHING’. Anna has also performed as a soloist at the London Palladium with Musical Theatre Acapella group MVox.

Wanna know why we wrote a show about Margaret Cavendish? She said some really iconic, and sometimes desperately relatable things. Surely the perfect source material for an experimental musical?
Here are some of our favourite quotes.
