May starts with International Workers’ Day - built on strikes, boycotts and collective refusal.
This month, we’re taking that seriously.
In response to boycott calls around Mighty Hoopla (owned via Superstruct by KKR) and Israel’s inclusion in Eurovision Song Contest amid genocide in Gaza and attacks on Lebanon, we’re not just opting out we’re building and supporting alternatives.

Q***r House Party Day & Night
Fox & Firkin, South East London
On the Saturday of Hoopla, were throwing a big fat 12-hour rave in a South London boozer with a huge outdoor space and massive sound systems, ft. a lineup of the UK’s finest, London’s best and our all-round faves who have decided not to be complicit in helping KKR make money at the expense of others.

Up Your Vision
Klub Kaput, Caravanserai, Brighton
On the night of Eurovision, join us as part of Make Music Matters raucous celebration of song, solidarity, hope and resistance. There might even be a secret afterparty too… DM us.
This isn’t about moral superiority or telling people what to do - it’s about us taking calls for boycott seriously enough to help create somewhere else to party, and a different source of income for people who are pulling out. This is important to us, if it isn’t for you - crack on!
International Workers’ Day is a reminder of why we do this: because we have a choice. Where we show up and where we spend matters, and we believe we deserve to hold onto our spaces and culture without being complicit in some of the most horrific violence of our time.
P.S. If you’re booked at Hoopla and want to do something else - DM us. We’ve got space reserved for people who want to pull out.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ DAY
Never let them tell you that we don’t have the power to say no, to build alternatives, and to fight for a better world.
