After a long day of waiting under a cloudy sky with soft touches of sunlight, I patiently tracked a male fox for how many hours, quietly following him to capture the perfect shot, and my Sony 400–800mm lens helped me immensely in seizing the right moment in the beautiful ambient light.

I was thrilled to capture this moment during our trip to the Isle of Skye, Scotland. We were on our way to a viewpoint to photograph the sunset when we unexpectedly spotted a group of seals resting along the coast. I immediately stopped the car and grabbed my camera, my hands shaking with excitement. But as I approached, they suddenly dove into the water, something that, as a wildlife photographer, happens all too often and it was frustrating.

Still, patience is always the key to a good shot. I waited for nearly an hour, and slowly, one by one, they re-emerged, their shiny heads breaking the surface. Having a clean background and soft ambient light made the moment even more special.

After waiting patiently for so long, I was beginning to feel frustrated , it seemed like nothing was going to happen that day. But then, as if it sensed my mood, this creature appeared. It calmly approached and sat before me, almost as if it was offering to pose for a portrait. In that moment, everything changed. This is what wildlife photography is all about. The raw, unplanned magic of capturing something truly unexpected and real.

After waiting patiently for so long, I was beginning to feel frustrated , it seemed like nothing was going to happen that day. But then, as if it sensed my mood, this creature appeared. It has been a pleasure to wait for the right moment. As photographers, we learn to be patient, the right time always delivers what we hope to capture. I’ve explored many genres of photography, but wildlife remains the most incredible. When it comes to camera gear, it’s often the most expensive. And when it comes to time, it’s the most demanding, sometimes even heartbreaking. But the reward of capturing that perfect wild moment makes it all worthwhile.
