Alex Young Art Contemporary artist specialising in painting and sculpture, experienced in metalwork and lost wax casting.

My work combines manmade objects and remnants of nature, weaving narratives that exist between memory, folklore and speculative fiction. A London-based artist available for commissions worldwide. Keen to collaborate and showcase art in public spaces, while also dedicated to working on arts/health initiatives.

It was one of those rare experiences that left me feeling more connected and recharged than I have in years. So good to meet many talented artists and be reminded of what I love most about art - the curiosity and community it creates.

Im happy to say that my sculpture The Forest has been selected for Green and Stone’s summer show next month 🥹

This show means a lot to me for a number of reasons. Last year my health wasn’t great, and it was difficult to leave the flat, let alone make art. With everything else going on, including family stuff, I didn’t have the chance to exhibit in 2024.

Green & Stone also has a place in my heart, as I worked there 8 years ago, while on foundation at Camberwell. I was lucky to learn about oil paint and other materials working alongside many talented artists including , , and

The past (astrological) year has been fundamentally life changing - full of beginnings, endings and what ifs - with mountains, underground emergencies and crane training along the way.

Only a month ago I was in Cape Town with my family, climbing table mountain with and getting swept away by the waves… 2 weeks ago my dad passed away - the most creative, loyal and dependable person I’ve met. You’re on the same page as Roy Ayers Dad, wherever you are, I hope you’re as proud as we are.

We’re constantly pressured to produce at an increasingly unattainable rate, but life, death and health are more important. I’m reminding myself of this, slowly beginning to make art again and staying present with the people I love.
