What a drama! Between HaHa and the lovely lock keeper at Sunbury lock we were able to make it down the Thames and all the way to Richmond.
We are thrilled to introduce HaHa, Foxy and Lupe as our The Little Wolves, opening Tuesday 18th August 2026 in Richmond-upon-Thames.

Video description: A shot panning between The Puppet Theatre Barge waiting outside a lock and glove puppet HaHa, a small grey hyena opening the lock manually.

Best laid plans and all. Foxy’s found herself a little stressed at this morning’s bump in the river.

Captain Sandy and the Sea Monster is in Abingdon!

We have two access shows planned for this run.
This Saturday 18th July, 11am, we have a relaxed performance for those who would benefit from the lights to not go fully off, the sound not to be at full volume, a smaller audience size and the ability to get up when needed. If you need to make noise this is the space.
On Saturday 25th July, we have our BSL interpreted performance for users of BSL.
Swim on down and snap up the tickets quickly.

A little surprise from the world of Puppet Barge. Here we reveal the magic of Black Light Theatre, and how we use it in our show Captain Sandy.

To create this magic our puppeteers work very hard and are barely able to see backstage and have to feel around in the dark.

We’re opening this week on Saturday 11th July and have only 5 tickets left for our opening show!
We have been in schools this week teaching shadow puppetry workshops, have workshops coming up in the local libraries in late July, and are featured in Round & About Magazine.
We are thrilled to be back in Abingdon and can’t wait for a month of Captain Sandy singing her way through adventure.

Meet Roddy! He’s fished something out of the sea and it is very special. Captain Sandy and the Sea Monster in Abingdon-on-Thames, this 11th July til the 9th August.

Swipe to see the extended talents of our puppeteer Emily giving a voice to the seagull. The show is voiced almost entirely by our 3 puppeteers, who as well as bring all these wonderful characters to life sing live and voice all the characters.
