PAPER TRAILS: A FRIEZE WEEK INSTALLATION
Every Métier bag begins with an idea — and, before leather is cut, a miniature model is created from paper. For Frieze London, Métier brings this usually unseen part of the design process to the windows of our Mayfair flagship, where paper artist Nathan Ward reimagines two of our classic styles as life-size sculptures.
The installation features six handwritten travel letters by Yolanda Edwards, founder of YOLO Journal, recounting journeys from Patmos to Nice, Oaxaca and beyond.
Her letters are patchworked across each paper sculpture — a nod to the places our bags go and the stories they collect along the way.

Each travel letter was handwritten by Yolanda at her apartment in Rome, on stationery sourced from Antica Cartotecnica, a historic Roman shop known for its beautiful papers and traditional writing materials.
