I am also showing some colour work this weekend .
I have been experimenting with hybrid techniques, combining polymer photogravure with giclee and Chine collé layers to introduce a subtle colour palette. The dreamlike quality of the print with its muted colours moves the image away from the realism of photography to become more painterly and emotionally charged.

My new series of prints is on show . I’m continuing my project depicting ordinary but strangely familiar urban locations that have been used in films and shaped by their appearance on screen. These three are from around the Barbican/Smithfield area of London. I spent many early mornings and late nights in the rain capturing them earlier this year. The limited editions of polymer photogravure prints are printed on Black BFK Rives with Awagami washi Chine-collé to represent the light and tonal depth emitted from a projection screen.

‘Vilvoittelu’ is a Finnish term referring to the essential practice of cooling down between sauna sessions. It involves stepping out of the hot sauna to breathe cold air, swim, or rest before getting back into the steam. It is a key part of the relaxation and cleansing experience.
There is a sauna in almost every house or apartment and at least 60 public saunas across Helsinki. In the sauna, social hierarchies are stripped away and everyone is equal. This traditional sauna which opened in the 1920’s is the last wood-heated public sauna in Helsinki.
I will be expanding my series on the Nordic capitals into other cities over the next months.

I am really pleased that the Worldwide have voted my jar the overall winner in the Clear Seville Orange Marmalade category. There are so many fantastic entries from all over the world, so it’s a great honour to be chosen. I always have fun making and photographing my efforts. The annual event held brings together communities from around the world through marmalade making and raises substantial funds for charity. This year is the 20th anniversary 🍊😋😊
