Gymnastics with steve
Steve Dorrington is a gymnastics coach with over 30 years of experience coaching both recreational and competitive athletes. He is the owner and head coach of Firefields Gymnastics Club and specialises in strength development, body control, and technical skill progressions. Steve is known for clear, practical coaching methods that help gymnasts build solid foundations and improve skills safely and efficiently.

Clothing: Please wear well-fitting, flexible sportswear suitable for gymnastics movement. Clothing must not have buttons, zips, buckles, or hard parts that could catch on equipment or cause injury.
As some skills may involve physical support or spotting, please avoid loose tops, crop tops, or strappy garments. A fitted T-shirt or similar top that stays in place is ideal and helps ensure safe and professional hands-on coaching when needed.

There are no fixed prerequisites for this workshop. I coach progressively and will work from each participant’s current ability level on the day. The session will be structured so that exercises and skill progressions can be adjusted up or down as needed.
If participants have specific skills they’d like to work toward, it would be helpful for them to share what they'd like to work on and their current experience level in advance so I can have in mind appropriate progressions and support.
Please remind people to keep expectations realistic. ie don't ask me to teach a tuck back somersault to someone who can't do a backward roll

Would people like an arts and crafts workshop the first week of the month? Some ideas would be Arts and crafts, collage, writing, sewing, basic repairs, prop fixing/making, boardgames, computer skills? Editing, photography? and hands off workshop or hands on. if you got ideas or things you'd like to do.
And

What is waving?

Waving is a contemporary dance style, often part of popping and funk, that creates the illusion of water or energy flowing through the body.

It involves smooth, continuous movements where joints are articulated in sequence—commonly from fingertips, through arms, across the chest, and down the legs—to create a "wave" effect.

Learn about this or just come to jam.
