The Mill ✍🏼 Formerly known as Bourton Mill, it has stood alongside Bourton House in Buckingham since potentially as early as the end of the 18th century, originally connecting into the River Ouse as a watermill. In recent years it has been granted a new lease of life. The owners of The Mill have done an incredible job of transforming the restored structure into a contemporary gym and wellness centre. A fantastic example of celebrating and protecting built heritage through new uses. This project is one I have been aware of and intrigued by for some time and it was a real pleasure to be asked to capture it in this commission at the end of 2025.

I recently found out that Freud Cafe Bar in Oxford has been closed for over a year! It’s such a shame that one of the most unique venues I had the pleasure of visiting during my time in Oxford is no longer open for business. I hope to see it open once again in time for my next visit to the city 🙏🏼

The Rose - CHARITY PRINT SALE! 🌹

For those of you who don’t know, I am running a marathon in September to raise money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth - the incredible team that took amazing care of my late aunt throughout the final months of her battle with cancer in 2013. I spent 100 hours drawing this beautiful rose that my mum planted in memory of her sister and to help fundraise, I am selling A4 prints with 50% of all sales going to the Garden House Hospice! They will only be available until September 27th so please order as soon as you can! All information on the product is available on my website through the linked item in this post. All prints will be sold as a pre-ordered item and will be shipped at the end of September.

My gofundme page is available through the link in my bio, if you’d like to donate without purchasing a print. Thank you so much in advance, this project and charity mean so much to me and I appreciate all the support!

I had wanted to work on something of this scale for a number of years. I knew the piece was going to take 100+ hours regardless of what I decided to draw so it really felt like it had to be something special and meaningful to be worth the investment of time. I was confident that if I waited long enough something would come about and inspire me to get started and the patience paid off…

Last summer I finished off my architecture degree and moved back home for a couple of months. One afternoon my mum was telling me about the rose she had planted in the garden in memory of her late sister (my auntie Shaz). She takes cuttings from the plant and grows a new rose each year and that years flower was only going to last a few more weeks so I decided to photograph it. I wasn’t considering drawing it at the time but once I went through the images later that day I knew immediately that it would look beautiful.

So here we are, 12 months later the piece is finished, framed and means the world to me. I couldn’t be more pleased with it and I can’t wait for my mum and grandmother to see it in person as soon as possible 🌹✍🏼
