For Thanksgiving, we're bringing one of the greatest concert films, and frankly one of the greatest films full stop, back to our downstairs screen. Martin Scorsese's THE LAST WALTZ screens Thu 26th Nov at 6pm, exactly 50 years after The Band's legendary farewell concert was staged on Thanksgiving Day 1976.

Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Robbie Robertson, Garth Hudson and Richard Manuel are joined by an absurd line-up of guests including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Wood, Emmylou Harris and more. Scorsese assembled some of the greatest cinematographers in the business to capture it, turning a farewell gig into something very special.

It's perfection. A glorious celebration of The Band and of America's greatest cultural creation: rock and roll.

Time has been kind to KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. Ridley Scott's Director's Cut made a triumphant return to the PCC a few months back, from it's new 4K restoration. Due to demand we've now added more screenings including next Thu 1st Oct + 12th & 17th Nov.

Starring Orlando Bloom, Eva Green, Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis and Edward Norton, the film follows blacksmith Balian as he is drawn into the Crusades and the defence of Jerusalem against Saladin's forces. Expanding the theatrical release by almost 50 minutes, the Director's Cut transforms the film into a sweeping historical epic of faith and moral compromise.

The brand new 35mm print of AKIRA debuts at the PCC tomorrow, with screenings running through to the end of September before returning again in November!

After the huge response to the recent 4K restoration, we're incredibly excited to have Katsuhiro Ôtomo's cyberpunk masterpiece back on film. Neo-Tokyo, Kaneda, Tetsuo, that score, those colours, those hand-drawn frames: AKIRA remains one of the defining works of animation, and we cannot wait to see it blazing away on celluloid! Jonathan Demme’s THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS returns to the PCC in a stunning 4K restoration next Thu 1st Oct, showing back to back with MANHUNTER in our downstairs screen.

One of the most precise films ever made- controlled, clinical, and genuinely terrifying. Demme’s direction and Tak Fujimoto’s cinematography, as close to perfection as you can get.

One of the great ghost stories, THE INNOCENTS, returns to the PCC in a beautiful 4K restoration Wed 21st Oct at 1pm.

Deborah Kerr stars as a governess charged with caring for two children at a vast country estate, where she becomes increasingly convinced that something supernatural has taken hold. Adapted from Henry James' The Turn of the Screw, the screenplay was famously reworked by Truman Capote, pushing the story further into ambiguity and making it impossible to know exactly where the haunting ends and psychological terror begins...

THE INNOCENTS remains a monumental piece of horror cinema and was later selected by The Guardian as one of the 25 greatest horror films ever made. See it with us!

FILM ON FILM is part of the fabric of the PCC, and we're incredibly proud of just how much celluloid is still to come before the end of 2026. We've got over 80 films lined up on 35mm and 70mm, with film prints running through our programme every single day.

From IN A LONELY PLACE to BIRTH, and everything from horror and anime to Hollywood classics, cult oddities, modern masterpieces and huge-format 70mm presentations, the selection is about as eclectic as the PCC gets. As far as we're aware, no cinema in the UK is showing more film on film than us, and keeping that tradition alive remains a huge part of what we do.

A massive shout-out, as always, to our wonderful projection team, who keep these prints running night after night and make this whole thing possible.

Swipe left for our full FILM ON FILM listings and start planning the rest of your year on celluloid.

Stanley Kubrick's THE SHINING returns throughout HorrOctober, screening almost every day at the PCC, and all from our pictured glorious UK Theatrical Cut 35mm print.

Jack Nicholson & Shelley Duvall inhabit the Overlook Hotel in one of the great horror films ever made. Strange, funny, terrifying and endlessly picked apart for hidden meanings and theories, THE SHINING was famously divisive on release but has grown into a genuine cinematic legend!

Few films have defined the genre quite like it. See THE SHINING on film with us this October.

CASABLANCA returns once again to the PCC next Tue 29th Sep - screening from a 35mm print. This is the classic to end all classics, the kind of film that reminds you why cinema endures.

Humphrey Bogart is Rick Blaine, a cynical American nightclub owner in Vichy-controlled Morocco who must choose between his love for a former flame, Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) and helping her husband, a famed resistance leader, escape the N***s.

ALL THAT JAZZ returns after much demand next Tue 29th Sep at 12:30pm + a downstairs show on Sun 8th Nov, both presented in it's stunning 4K restoration.

Bob Fosse’s autobiographical masterpiece charts the life of a driven, self-destructive choreographer and director, blending musical numbers with hallucinatory reflections on fame and mortality. Praised by Stanley Kubrick as “the best film I think I have ever seen”. It's one of cinema’s most audacious, inventive musicals.
