Congratulations to MASS artist Sato Sugamoto , currently on our sculpture programme, for being awarded the Kameyama Triennale Prize for ‘Glimpse’ at Kameyama Triennale.

Glimpse explores the impact of social media on our physiological states where chaotic, addictive, self-affirming habits fray mental states. The Kameyama Triennale Prize was awarded to the top three pieces selected at the Kameyama Triennale 2024 in Japan, aligned with the Triennale’s mission to serve as a gateway to success for emerging artists.

The day began with a fantastic talk from , sharing her work through from MA to PhD practice via collaborations, residencies and curation. Generous insight into a practice that explores and expands the roots and relevance of political activism through personal interventions and acts. Invited and introduced by MASS mentor .

I am thrilled to announce my sculpture Spectre, 2024 is on show at Letchworth’s Broadway Gallery until November 9th as a part of the Open Call.
Made of paper, glue, thread and spray paint, the piece has had quite a journey this year.

Slide 1 shows Spectre in my studio at Digswell Arts Trust where I made it into this form in April.

Slide 2 shows the Broadway Open main shot photo by Jo Underhill

Slide 3 me with the work during the open on September 14th 2024

Slide 4 shows the work included in an installation at Thamesside Gallery as my final presentation of work entitled Sorting through the ruins, 10,000 marks redacted, in June as a leaver of Turps Mass Programme where I was a studio holder until I got my fellowship with DAT.

Slide 5 and 6 show the works origin as a much larger piece as part of the work made on residency at Mass Studios in December 2023.
The 3m x 3.5m sculpture was cut into smaller parts to transport after the residency show and crit with Ian Dawson and Nika Neelova.

Thanks to members for ongoing support. Photography in all slides except no.2 which is
