Planning a work do? Start with these five things 👇
Before you get too far into venues, menus and moodboards, get clear on the basics first.
These will give you a solid starting point.
1️⃣ What are you celebrating, and who’s attending?
Start with the purpose of the event and the people you need to bring together. Guest numbers, seniority, internal teams, clients and other attendees will all influence the format and experience you create.
2️⃣ Your budget
Set your overall budget and priorities early. Knowing where you want to invest gives you a clearer brief when you start speaking to venues and suppliers.
3️⃣ Area and venue vibe
Location needs to work for your guests, but the venue also needs to suit the event itself. Consider transport, capacity, layout and whether the space fits the atmosphere you want to create.
4️⃣ Décor
Your styling can bring the company or event identity into the room. Think about branding, lighting, furniture and smaller details, and how they’ll work within the venue rather than treating each element on its own.
5️⃣ Food
Consider how catering fits into the schedule and the way you want guests to spend their time. A formal dinner creates a different pace from bowl food or roaming service, so choose an approach that works with the wider event.
There are a lot of moving parts behind a great event. Need a hand pulling it all together? The Awesome team can help from the first brief through to the event itself.
