Happy 1st of Feb...So I thought I would incorporate daily prompts into my current addiction of illustrating exerts from a 1960s children’s dictionary, today being ‘cryptid’ No I didn’t know what it meant either!

I found a few that can recreate the ‘miss registering’ effect from mid century and earlier print. For the font I used ‘dry ink’ along with Tarkine, melaleuca & rosette all can be found in textures. I think they work quite well for preset brushes that I rarely use.

I have re sketched this little illustration from a children’s learn•at•home dictionary printed way back in 1962 I couldn’t resist adding eyes to the nuts 👀 🥜
