I don’t consider this a job because if it was a job, then I wouldn’t recommend it - there’s zero security, the amount of money you make is dependent on the weather and there’s plenty of times you’ll turn up, barely make costs or worse lose money 😳
Imagine going to your job for a 7-8 hour shift and then going home losing money 😂🍷
I’ve also had to deal with all sh*tty aspects of promoting…
From venues not being able to use a calendar properly, bands cancelling last minute, turning up drunk, late to gigs, headline acts threatening not to play unless I paid more money - it really is the most unprofessional business you could ever imagine.
There’s a lot of animosity between bands and promoters but the Simple fact is: the music industry does not pay at this level.
The gigs game is a gamble. As promoter, I gamble on a lineup I think is capable of meeting costs and hope for the best. The only income is in ticket sales and these have to be generated by Venue / Bands / Promoter working together - there’s a lot of risk involved and if the night fails to make cost then it’s the promoter that loses money.
Even the best of lineups, on a cold rainy day will barely make cost.
Thankfully I have a real job because if I had to rely on promoting to pay the bills then I probably would have to adopt a model like *********** 😭

Having said that, I am looking for hosts and promoters to help with the gigs. The LMS could be doing 7 events per week but I don’t have the time to organise everything and physically be at all the gigs myself. These are paid roles.
I’m looking for people that are interested in live music and putting on quality nights and bands. You should have a good vibe and positive attitude, capable of holding a conversation and looking after a large group. This would ideally suit musicians like yourselves who know how the gigs go, what to expect and possible problems.
This is flexible and part time so can be an additional source of income, however these roles are only offered to people I have actually met so please don’t message me if we haven’t - come to a gig 🙂🍻
