Dear choir friends,

I hope you had a lovely summer!

I know some of you have been asking about when we are resuming in person. I’m sorry for the delay, but I’m thrilled to open our (limited) spaces again for you now!

We will be singing together in a central Greenwich location on Wednesday evenings from the 15th of September. We will be singing with some distance & ventilation as well as following COVID safety measures.

Due to the situation we are currently limited on numbers, and currently have space for 6 more regular members. Once these spaces are filled, there really is no more room!

~connecting to our collective breath~

Starting next week I am running a 4 week series of breathing focused singing workshops. It’s a great opportunity for beginner singers to learn the basics & seasoned singers to get a deeper insight. The project will give you skills that will enhance your voice, mind & lungs.

Singing is known to benefit mental wellbeing & improve respiratory health.

The sessions will take place on Zoom and will culminate in a creative collaboration. If you’re worried about people hearing you sing… now’s your chance, because you will be on mute while we are singing, it’s just me who will be heard in the non talking portion of the workshops.

Join Our Voice Choir Community for a 4 week series of breath focused singing workshops online. We will be exploring all things breathing and singing related, and collaborating on a creative piece. This is an inclusive space where all levels are welcomed, including complete beginners.

All sessions will take place online on Zoom.
Wednesday evenings 7-8.30pm (3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th March).
Cost: £40

Thank you to those of you who joined us last night for the social & open mic. What an uplifting evening! I was amazed to see someone from Malaysia tuning in at their 3am!

I’m so excited to finally let you know about the project that I’ve been secretly cooking up over the last few weeks.

My community choir Our Voice Choir are about to embark on a new 4 week music video project and we want YOU to be part of it!

This is a unique opportunity to be part of the OVC community for a brief 4 weeks; taking part as we learn the song, design the video & then feature in the final result.

We’ve got an awesome musician & Ronnie Scott’s regular (back in the day) Chris Eldred featuring with us on keyboards!

For anyone who would like to participate in the project it will cost £40 to cover the 4 sessions & music video participation. (Feel free to tag & share with family & friends, and be part of a music video together no matter where you are geographically!)

Rehearsals & video planning sessions will be on Wednesday evenings on Zoom at 7pm, starting next week.

10th Feb

Ideally you’d attend all of the sessions, but you’re still welcome to sign up if:
- you want to be in the video but can’t attend sessions much (there will be a practice track to learn from).
- you want to be involved in the community and video designing aspect but would rather not sing in the video.

I’ve been thinking a lot about everyone & how this is all stretching on a lot longer than we had hoped/expected. I’ve decided to host a special virtual music evening next week to combat the January/Lockdown blues & you’re invited!

Music Community Social & Open Mic - Free
Join me for a fun evening of music and community. A chance to get your creative juices flowing in 2021, meet like minded music lovers & hear some live music.
I will open the session with a creative warm up for all, and host an open mic where you can share a song, poem or simply just listen and be part of the community.

Please share this post with anyone you think might enjoy it - no music experience necessary!

Tickets are free, all you need to do is email me at [email protected] to book your place & I will send you the Zoom link.
