Happy 30th birthday to Tigermilk. And to Belle & Sebastian.
There’s so much I could say about this album and band. One day I’ll write it all down but not today. Today I just want to say thank you.
13 years after its initial release I hear Tigermilk for the first time and it quickly become a guiding light for me. It seemed to contain the answers to so many questions a sad teenager or anxious twenty-something might have, and when it didn’t, it became a audial hug.

I was talking to a friend last night about how impossible it is to picture my life without Belle & Sebastian. Hearing Tigermilk for the first time changed something in me. It made me realise that the only thing I really wanted to do was write about music. There have been plenty of detours since then, but this anniversary has gently pointed me back towards that path.
Even more importantly, so much of my life has grown from the people I’ve met because of these songs , friends made at gigs or through the fan community. Even three decades after those songs were recorded, they’re still bringing people together. For the first time in my life, I feel like I truly belong to something, and that’s a gift I don’t take lightly.

It’s strange to think that an album made in five days, release with such a tiny run in Glasgow could mean so much to so many people. But then, Belle & Sebastian have always had a way of making the world feel like it was “made of lace” soft and beautiful.

Happy birthday, Tigermilk.

Side A of the Funny Little Frog mixtape is up on Mixcloud now. It’s made up of tracks I had on repeat during the making of the zine so expect to find tracks by Felt, Heavenly, Belle & Sebastian and a lot of other bits of indie pop joy.

Proud to say Funny Little Frog has received the official Belle and Sebastian seal of approval!
I’m over joy with the love the zine has received!! It was a real labour of love.
Not just mines but a whole host of such talented artists and writers!
Thank you everyone who help make or supported this little idea of mines. I would haven’t been able to do it otherwise.

I’m excited to say that the zine has arrived! And just in time for Belle and Sebastian UK dates!
I will be at all the London and Manchester dates and will be bringing copies to sell. If you would like to buy a copy in person and save on postage then just message me or find the person holding Tigermilk or the fox toy! (Most likely to found in the smoking area between sets) (If your order a copy and would like to pick up in person just dm me and I’ll refund the postage cost)
I will be posting orders next week once I’m back home from the tour!
