Hey, with it being nearly a fortnight since we closed zine submissions*, I thought it was good time for a little update.

There’s been so many delightful pieces sent for the zine and I’m so overexcited to show them to you all. If you have send me work and I haven’t got in contact please let me know as it might have slip me by.
The time line for the zine is to open pre-orders at the start of October, with shipping to start in mid-November. I will of course be selling copies at the shows in December.
I’ve also been working on a few little things to do along with the zine, honestly can’t wait to show everyone them.

Radhika and Stuart Murdoch singing Felt’s Primitive Painters with Feel at Glas Goes Pop.
I don’t have the words to describe this moment. I was already on level of bliss out happiness during the Feel set, then this. The perfect song, band and voices, I’ll never forget this. (And sorry for everyone who will see me in person for the next few months this will be the only thing I talk about)

I don’t love anyone expect maybe B&S

Happy 30th birthday to Tigermilk. And to Belle & Sebastian.
There’s so much I could say about this album and band. One day I’ll write it all down but not today. Today I just want to say thank you.
13 years after its initial release I hear Tigermilk for the first time and it quickly become a guiding light for me. It seemed to contain the answers to so many questions a sad teenager or anxious twenty-something might have, and when it didn’t, it became a audial hug.

I was talking to a friend last night about how impossible it is to picture my life without Belle & Sebastian. Hearing Tigermilk for the first time changed something in me. It made me realise that the only thing I really wanted to do was write about music. There have been plenty of detours since then, but this anniversary has gently pointed me back towards that path.
Even more importantly, so much of my life has grown from the people I’ve met because of these songs , friends made at gigs or through the fan community. Even three decades after those songs were recorded, they’re still bringing people together. For the first time in my life, I feel like I truly belong to something, and that’s a gift I don’t take lightly.

It’s strange to think that an album made in five days, release with such a tiny run in Glasgow could mean so much to so many people. But then, Belle & Sebastian have always had a way of making the world feel like it was “made of lace” soft and beautiful.

Happy birthday, Tigermilk.
