It's always nice to know others share my passion for this craft, so I'm grateful to you for your interest. My classes are the culmination of almost thirty years industry experience. They are best suited to actors who are committed to their development as artists in a safe environment. My methodology is based on detailed script analysis combined with the actor’s imagination and interpretation to cr

eate truthful and realistic performances. I made my professional acting debut in 1992 and I have continued to work on stage and screen since then. I currently teach 'Acting for Camera' at Mountview. My main teaching influences are Larry Moss (The Intent to Live), Uta Hagen (A Challenge for the Actor) and Mike Alfreds (Different Every Night). Their books are superb and I would highly recommend them. In addition to two years full-time conservatoire training, I have committed to developing my practise by participating in numerous workshops, masterclasses and scene-study in Ireland, Australia and the U.S. I also spent six years running my own theatre company in Melbourne. My goal is to offer you the benefit of my extensive experience as you build your own career. Being a professional actor requires commitment, perseverance and courage. That's just to stick with it, in this precarious business of ours. My experience has been that working on my craft in class has sustained and nourished me (it has also made me a better actor), not least by virtue of engaging with my fellow actors who are on this journey with me. Often seen as individualistic and narcissistic (sure that can happen to some), acting is actually a deeply collaborative pursuit, at it's most creative when done in the company of like-minded others.

Auditors are not simply observing.

They are present for the full process — participating in exercises, engaging in group discussion, and working alongside the actors.

If you want to experience the depth of the work without the need to perform, this is the way in.

Hello actors!

Being uncomfortable in front of the camera is normal. It doesn’t mean you’re not talented — it means you’re human.

In theatre, you get a rehearsal room. Time to explore, stumble, try things, find truth.

ON SCREEN?
You’re often expected to deliver on the first take… with no rehearsal, no warm-up, no room to breathe. Can you show up with a character who’s lived in, layered, clear and specific?

Having a technique you can rely on is essential.

A way of working that helps you dig deeper…
make choices with confidence…
build emotional, physical and psychological truth… and create fully formed characters from scratch — independently.

This doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through regular practice, curiosity, repetition, and a willingness to sit in the unknown long enough for something real to emerge.

Class isn’t just where you “perform” — it’s where you train the instrument, strengthen your instincts, and develop a process that supports you every time you meet a new role.

The more you practice, the more you trust yourself. The more you trust yourself, the braver your work becomes.

We went deep in a recent Acting for Camera masterclass I did, as we do in all my classes 💪

Here I’m highlighting the importance of script analysis and in particular being able to do that by yourself for screen auditions.
