Process vs outcome (in this case, I much prefer the process!) 🙈

This was my first attempt (can you tell 😂) at Tetrapak printing (at the lovely somethinggoodworkshops) and I was way too ambitious but still got a lot out of learning the process - quite crazy how your oat milk carton is in the fridge one minute and the next you’re using it to make art hehe ✂️

Swipe to step inside my exhibition 🖼️➡️

It’s called ‘Made for Each Other’ and it’s about the history of artist best friends exploring the psychology of friendship and how artists through the ages have supported and influenced each other. The exhibition would finish with a reflection on the significance of irl friendship in an age of digital disconnection.

Discussing with someone in the workshop yesterday, we had a really interesting conversation about how this exhibition could lead nicely into a reflection on motherhood and being an artist, how lots of artist opportunities arise from being in the right place at the right time, networking etc. - most of which takes place at evening private views and the like, often inaccessible to mothers with young children.

This time last year, I ran a family workshop inspired by Jacqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather novel, creating mini personalised circus tents from paper! ✂️

This was part of the Hetty Feather Day, which happens every year - Jacqueline Wilson comes and chats to families and sign their books & everyone loves it! Spoiler: she’s super nice 👍
