Swipe to step inside my exhibition 🖼️➡️

It’s called ‘Made for Each Other’ and it’s about the history of artist best friends exploring the psychology of friendship and how artists through the ages have supported and influenced each other. The exhibition would finish with a reflection on the significance of irl friendship in an age of digital disconnection.

Discussing with someone in the workshop yesterday, we had a really interesting conversation about how this exhibition could lead nicely into a reflection on motherhood and being an artist, how lots of artist opportunities arise from being in the right place at the right time, networking etc. - most of which takes place at evening private views and the like, often inaccessible to mothers with young children.

What would *your* exhibition be about?

Loved this afternoon of crafting handmade keyrings with families ☀️

Well worth the 40 minute walk along a motorway in the bright sunshine with no water when my train broke down 😂

Cute workshop throwback!

This time last year, I ran a family workshop inspired by Jacqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather novel, creating mini personalised circus tents from paper! ✂️

This was part of the Hetty Feather Day, which happens every year - Jacqueline Wilson comes and chats to families and sign their books & everyone loves it! Spoiler: she’s super nice 👍

Documenting through zine making ✂️

I had such a great time developing and facilitating this session for and 🚍🚲🚌🛴

Taking inspiration from a manifesto about the cost of travel in London written by a group of young people people from we created mini zines to visually represent thoughts and feelings around the impact of travel costs on young people and other issues around safety and access. The young people photocopied their zines at the end of the session and will be able to distribute them wherever they like to spread the word! 🗣️

Throwback to this lovely collage workshop I facilitated at the Foundling Museum, helping to bring to life the vision of students on Central Saint Martin’s BA in Culture, Criticism and Curation course 💫

Bits, Pieces & Belonging was a collaborative collage-making workshop inspired by the layered experiences of the children who lived at the Foundling Hospital and their formative years spent in the English countryside ☀️

Through guided prompts, participants were invited to use collage to imagine and understand these early experiences of care, working with recycled and natural materials alongside archival imagery from the Foundling Museum’s collection 🫶

Thanks for bringing me in on this project ☺️
