Who can believe it's that time of year already?!?

It may not feel like it outside yet, but autumn is officially upon us - and that means it's time for our autumn concert. 🍂

This year, we'll be pairing Beethoven’s famous classics, the Coriolan Overture and 7th Symphony, with 20th Century British composer Ruth Gipps' Horn Concerto and Wind Sinfonietta.

We are delighted to welcome horn player Joseph Longstaff to perform this Concerto with us! 📯

Book your tickets now via the link in our bio, we hope you see you all there.

Wherefore art thou.....Kew Sinfonia?

Looking down from the balcony in St Anne's Church, we couldn't help but be reminded of the magic of Shakespeare. 🎭

Whilst there's no Juliet calling for Romeo tonight, there will be Johan Svendsen's Romeo and Juliet filling the church with music inspired by one of literature's greatest love stories.

But not just that - we've got a fantastic lineup featuring Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Nicolai and Berlioz to celebrate our 40th anniversary in style!

We are absolutely ECSTATIC to announce... Shakespeare-themed midsummer 40th Anniversary Concert on 27 June! 🎉 🎶

The programme offers a thematic journey inspired by Shakespeare's comedies and tragedies. Light-hearted romance, comedy and fairy-tale imagery contrast with intense emotional drama, all brought together with performative readings.

Our concert opens with Berlioz’s charming and witty overture Béatrice et Bénédict, followed by The Merry Wives of Windsor Overture by Nicolai.

The programme transitions to romance and tragedy in Norwegian composer Johan Svendsen’s 1876 Romeo and Juliet Fantasy tone poem and Mendelssohn’s popular incidental music to the magical Midsummer Night’s Dream.

But the drama doesn’t end there - we'll finish with possibly the most iconic classical composition of all time, Beethoven’s powerful and exciting Symphony No 5.

We look forward to welcoming you to join us for what promises to be a truly joyous occasion, celebrating Kew Sinfonia’s achievements over 40 years of wonderful music making!

... And we're back! For our first concert of the new year, we're starting off with a bang. 💥

We're so glad to be welcoming back the incredibly talented to perform Shostakovich's spirited and lyrically beautiful 2nd piano concerto, a treat not to be missed. 👀

We'll also be performing Beethoven's Egmont Overture, Roussel's Sinfonietta, and Bizet's Symphony in C.

What an evening! 🎅🌌

Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas concert last week, we were thrilled to see the hall so full.

Congratulations to the Brentford School for Girls choir who were absolutely fantastic during the carols and Home Alone repertoire.

Thank you to for joining us for her wonderful narration of The Snowman. Special credit must also go to our talented conductor@danielhoganconductor, who had the incredibly tricky job of seamlessly guiding both Rosie and the orchestra to bring the story to life. ☃️

And of course, congratulations to our players for their dedication and talent both last week and all year.
It has been a wonderful year of music making at Kew Sinfonia, and we couldn't have done it without you.
