The idea for The Chill Out Tent came out of trying to build a community in lockdown that would usually exist in real life; it’s now about keeping our music and related arts alive in these strange times. The next instalment of our curated mix series has just landed over on Apple Music This one was first imagined by our own Steve Machin for a night we co-hosted at The Social called The Acid House, when we realised that dropping heavy acid bangers early on wasn’t the right vibe.
Instead, we set out to create something subtler that still carried the acid spirit, starting as a two-hour audio-visual piece and later evolving at We Are Love festival it weaves ambient echoes and textures into an acid daydream that feels reminiscent of simpler times — enjoy your trip to Acid Beach.
