Baithak UK is delighted to support the screening of All About Weddings (Biye Fiye Niye) at the London Indian Film Festival

Directed by Neel Dutt, this witty and contemporary Bengali ensemble drama takes us behind the glitter and glamour of a traditional Bengali wedding to explore the complexities of modern relationships, family expectations, friendship, identity and love. What begins as a joyous wedding celebration soon reveals hidden tensions, long-held secrets and the realities that often lie beneath the surface of the "perfect" marriage.

Fresh, funny and emotionally resonant, All About Weddings reinvents the familiar wedding film with sharp writing, memorable characters and an honest look at contemporary Bengali life. The film has already earned international recognition, including a Special Jury Award at the Gange Sur Seine Festival in Paris.

Baithak UK is delighted to support the UK theatrical release of Cactus Pears (Sabar Bonda), directed by Rohan Kanawade.

Making history at Sundance 2025, Cactus Pears became the first Indian fiction feature and the first Marathi-language film to win the World Cinema Dramatic Grand Jury Prize. The film also went on to receive the Jury Prize at the inaugural SXSW London.

Set in rural Maharashtra, the film follows Anand, a Mumbai call-centre worker who returns to his ancestral village following the death of his father. There, he reconnects with his childhood friend Balya, and together they navigate grief, family expectations, identity and q***r love within a traditional rural community.

Tender, moving and deeply personal, Cactus Pears offers a rare and nuanced portrayal of q***r South Asian life on screen, bringing regional storytelling and underrepresented voices to a global audience.
