Research shows that s*x-positive events can support women’s s*xual autonomy and agency.

Findings highlight that when consent is explicit, communication is encouraged, and women are free to choose their level of participation, many experience increased confidence, self-trust, and clarity around desire and boundaries.

Women are not simply reacting to others’ expectations — they actively negotiate consent, power, and pleasure on their own terms.

This post is informed by academic research I personally undertook last year, drawing on women’s first-person accounts of s*x-positive events and their impact on s*xual agency and autonomy.
