Mirei

Mirei art Mirei is an artist that works with body movement, bodily sensation and improvisation to grasp a deeper understanding of what we call 'reality'.

Her work is performance based, blending together elements of dance, singing/vocalisation and playing sound objects. Costumes and props are also central to Mirei’s artistry, creating pieces that interact well with live performance and movement. Mirei collaborates regularly with artists from a range of backgrounds and disciplines, as well as leading workshops in movement and improvisation. Her most

recent workshop focuses on improvisation and proprioception, thereby holding space for participants to explore forgotten/unfound aspects of their reality, as well as interacting with others.

I took part in Visual Science of Art Conference (VSAC) 2025 at Museum Reinhard Ernst in Wiesbaden, where I presented a poster as a psychology researcher, facilitated a workshop, and performed as an artist.
It was such an intense few days that I barely had time to take photos by myself.
But still, it was grateful to be inspired, share my work and encounter with so many researchers and artists across disciplines.
