Whoever said blogging is dead???

In the ripe year of 2024, we have decided now is the time to start a blog, and what better way to begin then with an introduction into where our company came from and what what our artistic commitments are, by our founder .muller.

This blog is going to develop as we find our feet, but we are going to try and post at least once a week, so keep an eye out!

Welcome to the garden. We hope you stay awhile.

Hi everyone,

We have a new show in the works! But first…finances…

We have just launched a gofundme aiming to raise £600 to buy the rights for an upcoming project, link below:

https://www.gofundme.com/f/buying-the-rights-for-our-next-production

Purchasing the rights is one of the key steps to finalising our ACE funding as well as allowing us to tell you more about our vision.

So as we said, we have a new production coming up and this time, we’re tackling the work of a great woman!

It will explore women’s reproductive health, motherhood, staging female pain, verse, and movement.

We are so excited to do an R&D with this material, and although we cannot advertise just yet which play it is (hence the need to purchase the rights) we can promise it is a very moving project for which we have high hopes and promising partnerships.

As I'm sure many of you are aware, it's a really difficult time right now in the arts, and as an unfunded, early career company, it can often feel like the monetary obstacles in the way of putting on a show are insurmountable.

Thank you so much for your support, it truly means the world!

Love,

The team at LowDoor & 23andCounting Productions

TRAILER LAUNCH:

“Come to me. Come to me now then. See me. Free me”

We are so proud to share with you our wonderful trailer, which gives you a tantalising insight into the complex world of our play.

We wanted to break out of the darkness of our rehearsal rooms, and transpose our characters into fields of flowers and sunlight. This felt like a way of honouring so many of the classical works which have inspired the creation of this show; the flowery fields from which Persephone was snatched by Hades. The violet streaked meadows of Sappho’s verses. The hillsides overlooking the Aegean sea, where Pygmalion fashioned his Galatea.

Sadly, in London, we couldn’t quite fashion our own Aegean sea. We settled for Gunnersbury Park. But we think there is a quiet, archaic beauty to it, all the same.
