Highlighting screenprinted details in ‘Desnudo Con Frutas Flotantes,’ by Juan de la Rica.

De la Rica’s pop-art style works translated into a screenprinted edition perfectly. In this release, where he had painted highlights on the fruit, we chose to cover in a layer of screenprinted gloss. This not only mirrored the detail in the original, but also added a layer of texture to the planes of colour.

There are a few remaining editions of ‘Holiday’ by Riikka Sormunen, featured on our London Original Print Fair Booth in May.

‘Holiday’ retains Sormunen’s vibrant colours and detailed floral patterns, but the added layer of screenprint varnish adds a layer of texture and a different viewing experience depending on the point of view.

Couch uses a combination of monoprinting, collage, embroidery, and hand-finishing to create works that are layered in both technique and meaning. The double-figure represents the multiple lives and identities we contain in one body, while motifs such as wings and ropes represent freedom, or the lack of.

Carino hadn’t worked in the medium before, but these smaller-scale unique prints encompass his exceptional instinct for colour and flow. Each work depicts figures enjoying the joyful landscape of Hampstead Heath, with his unique textures and colours across the series.
