Gaia Ozwyn

Gaia Ozwyn I am an abstract painter based in east London, raised in Devon. I also work as a doctor in the NHS when I am not painting.

- London Art Biennale 1st-4th July 2021
- SuperGlue 21 - 15th-17th July 2021

Selected works available in The Drawing Rooms Gallery, West Malling, from 25th June. To

I truly could not be more appreciative of the sunlight in the studio during the afternoons. All the painstaking work (and re-work 😂) in pursuit of subtle colour shifts/ interactions can feel heavy, but to see it drenched in light like this is so energising!

I’m thrilled to be included in
‘𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙙’ presented by , and to show alongside these incredible artists!

‘𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙙’ focuses on how contemporary painters explore the complexities of identity and belonging within the dynamic backdrop of London, a city defined by its transience and rancour, as much as its pulsating creativity.

Inspired by Grace Nichols’s poem ‘Like a Beacon’, this exhibition acknowledges the truth that, throughout its history, the capital’s most thriving painters have often been those who have chosen it – rather than inherited it- as their home.

Featuring artists:
Jesse Akele (.akele)
Anastazie Anderson ()
Thomas Cameron ()
David Gardner (.bitten.by.lizard)
Harriet Gillett ()
Lily Kemp ()
Gaia Ozwyn (.ozwyn)
