Behind the scenes with The Flight Music recording their incredible score for IO Interactive’ latest Bond adventure, 007 First Light.

“We’ve been blending sweeping orchestral elegance with modern electronics and production to tell the story of a Bond who hasn’t yet become the iconic 007 – a project that feels made for The Flight… It’s been exhilarating and deeply rewarding.” Joe Henson, speaking to Music Week.

The strings were recorded here at Angel Studios Angel Recording Studios, with brass recorded in Studio One at Abbey Road, both performed by the Chamber Orchestra of London, adding that classic cinematic scale to a score that draws on the musical legacy of 007 while bringing a fresh sound to the franchise.

Released in May, 007 First Light has already sold over 3 million copies within it’s first two weeks. Congratulations to The Flight and everyone involved in this truly incredible soundtrack.

In September 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming Self Esteem and the SLS Choir to Angel Studios to record the vocal arrangements for ’A Complicated Woman’.

The session saw Angel One filled with the sound of a 20+ piece choir, with layers upon layers of harmony capturing the scale, energy and emotion that became a defining texture of the album.

Speaking to Music Week about the role of the choir, Self Esteem said this:

“Using the choir has helped with switching my brain to thinking the music is not just for me. It is about people, it’s for everyone. It’s screaming and shouting at the system and the relief that brings. I also just like harmony and choir and that level of immersive-ness.”

Released April 25 2025, ‘A Complicated Woman’ is SELF ESTEEM’s third album, following the critically acclaimed, BRIT and Mercury Prize-nominated album ‘Prioritise Pleasure’.

Award-winning Silo returns for a third season.

Choir sessions for Apple TV’s latest season were recorded here at Angel Studios with Shards Voices. The voices were used as an instrument, rather than traditional sung vocals, adding a distinctive vocal texture to one of television’s most immersive soundscapes.

Composed by Atli Örvarsson, whose masterful score has shaped the series’ distinctive sound from the very beginning, Silo’s music has earned critical acclaim. His score for the first season, recorded at Angel Studios with the London Metropolitan Orchestra, won a BAFTA Award for Original Music: Fiction and received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.

Congratulations to Atli and the rest of the team on the release of Season 3.
