This gouache study was inspired by the first time I visited Ionq abbey on my birthday, which happened to be a misty day in July - did you know itā€™s the mistiest month on Iona!

Iā€™m immersing myself in the copious amount of photos I have taken of Iona over the years, as Iā€™m working on a new collection of watercolour studies and oil paintings of the abbey and nunnery.

Iā€™ve recently added a few ready to hang options to prints available on my website. Each signed and titled giclĆ©e print is meticulously printed on sustainable, heavyweight German HahnemĆ¼hle Fine art paper using the finest pigment-based inks. These prints are designed to endure and are a lovely gift for someone special who loves this sacred island.
