An Epic of Survival: Mountain Dream: Simon Yates Live at Llangollen Pavilion

Dangling on a rope 50 metres below a freezing Peruvian mountain face, an injured Joe Simpson was slowly pulling his partner, Simon Yates, to his death.

To save both their lives, Simon made the desperate decision to cut the rope. It became a household story, immortalized in the legendary book and film Touching the Void.While an ordeal like that would break most, it only fueled Simon's passion.

Decades later, he remains one of the world's most active exploratory climbers, mapping ranges from Alaska to Central Asia.Come and experience the breathtaking drama, beauty, and humour of modern alpine exploration, told firsthand by a true mountaineering icon.

A gala performance called A Night at the Opera

This Saturday 25th July will see the Pavilion host ‘A Night at the Opera’, a gala concert by the North Wales Opera.

The concert will feature famous arias, duets and ensemble pieces from operas such as Carmen, Magic Flute, Marriage of Figaro and La Boheme, along with classics from musical theatre including Cabaret, Carousel, and Westside Story.
