We know our Collen Players supporters love music hall and variety.

We were very sad to hear today of the passing of actress Sheila Burnette.

Sheila was a familiar and much-loved face on television for many years, with appearances in programmes such as Candid Camera, The Good Old Days, The Dick Emery Show, Coronation Street, Butterflies and more — always bringing warmth, character and wonderful comic timing.

She also had a strong and special connection with The Players’ Theatre, performing there on many occasions and helping to keep the true spirit of music hall and variety alive.
