Little bit of time in the garage this afternoon, reorganised the luthiers tools and had a go at cutting my first inlay piece out of gold backed acrylic, next is to cut the cavity for it!

What an absolute bargain! Both these for £35!😲 not sure what the burl is and it does have woodworm but hoping there’s still something pretty a little deeper! The slice is Redwood from cut up in 1992! It has a crack in it so hoping there’s enough room for a guitar body and maybe some bowls, or get some resin and make it a feature!

My first guitar, first time for many of the techniques, first time working with exotic woods, my entry into the is finally complete! It will need a final setup once everything is settled under tension, but to say I’m relieved is an understatement, I’m so incredibly proud of myself! The next one will be a little simpler 🙈 Thank you to and for inspiring me to push myself, and to all of you for your support and help along the journey! 🙏🏼 #

✔️ Guitar oiled (2 coats Crimson Penetrating, 2 coats High Build) ✔️Guitar waxed (2 coats Alfie Shine Hard Wax Polish)
✔️Fretboard oiled (Crimson Fretboard Restortative) Next stop let the wax cure for a couple of days then it’s on to the final assembly! 😃

First couple of coats of Penetrating oil on☺️ think I’ll move on to the High Build next 😃 I’m in love with the quilt in the maple, and I keep forgetting about the ripple in the black limba too!
