Further success for James Oakley, who was recognised last night at the Brangwyn Hall by the National Youth Choir of Wales. He was awarded the inaugural David Jackson Award — a new honour created to celebrate the most promising singer in the choir, selected by the conductor and tutors.

Congratulations to James on behalf of LARS.

Roedd aelodau LARS yn cymryd rhan mewn clybiau corawl drwy’r wythnos, ac roedd llawer ohonynt wedi mwynhau llwyddiant mawr. Mae LARS yn falch o bawb a gystadlodd yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol eleni.
LARS members were involved in choirs throughout the week, many of which enjoyed great success. LARS is proud of all who competed at this year’s National Eisteddfod.

Heartbeat Trust UK Concert, All Saints Church, Oystermouth — Appearing alongside eight fellow LARS members-

July has been a busy period for our LARS members. Over the past ten days alone, they have performed at several high‑profile and prestigious events:

11th July – All Saints Church, Oystermouth, for Heartbeat Trust UK, where nine LARS members performed

12th July – Civic Ceremony of the Chair of Llanelli Rural Council at Soar Chapel, Llwynhendy, featuring performances by Lauren Elizabeth Williams and Connor Horton

16th July – Annual Concert of Côr Glandulais at Capel Hope-Siloh in Pontarddulais , where Lauren was the soloist

18th July - Port Talbot Cymric Male Choir Annual Concert, where guest soloist was Penelope George

18th July – Treorchy Male Choir’s 80th Anniversary Concert at Llandaff Cathedral, with performances by Lauren and Jasper Hollett

LARS is extremely grateful for these wonderful opportunities and proud of the exceptional standard our members continue to uphold.

10.7.26 Summer Spectacular at All Saints Church, Oystermouth

A spontaneous standing ovation for an AMAZING concert in All Saints Church, Oystermouth, tonight, where LARS shared the stage with Morriston Male Voice Choir (formerly known as the Morriston RFC Male Choir) and the delightful young voices of Oystermouth Primary School Choir.
Nine members of LARS took to the stage, accompanied by LARS Musical Advisor Ryan Wood and D. Huw Rees. Their accompaniment was wonderful, and every LARS performer delivered an outstanding performance - extremely proud of them all.
LARS Performers: Max Morris, Connor Horton, Jasper Hollett, Rhys Hunter, Mared Phillips, Georgia Barley, Penelope George, Lauren Elizabeth Williams, Isla Lloyd.

Morriston Male Voice Choir were brilliant under the baton of D. Huw Rees and accompanist Sian Davies — first‑class musicians.
The school choir received a standing ovation and were conducted by Mike Hunter, with accompaniment by Rachel Hunter, again two excellent musicians.
The compere for the evening was Henry Gilbert, founder and chair of Heartbeat Trust UK, who did a great job throughout the concert. Henry was made a Vice President of the choir on the night.
This was a memorable concert and certainly raised awareness of Heartbeat Trust UK and its vital work in providing defibrillators and critical bleed kits. Well done to the charity!

Lauren Elizabeth Williams gave a wonderful performance at the Hereford Police Male Voice Choir Annual Concert in the beautiful St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Hereford. Her performance prompted a standing ovation — LARS is proud of you, as always, Lauren.
