Rob Pointon's latest exhibition - Fake Tales of San Francisco is our largest show to date, with nearly a 100 paintings set over 3 floors. This show contains work made in North Wales, and north-west England, Venice and San Francisco. Everywhere, he catches the spirit and immerses himself in the atmosphere. The ever-changing light and the constant activity seem to fascinate him. Nothing in these paintings is static or settled. Come check it out for yourselves, open Tuesday to Saturday 10-5. I had the absolute joy of framing some paintings for for his upcoming solo show . Two of them were these hand painted frames above. Rob chose the profile. Tulip, with a very steep bevel which echoes nicely the radical perspectives in this body of work. Otherwise he gave me a loose brief but essential I choose the colours, paints and application myself. These are my favourite kinds of jobs, where bee trusted by the client to have free rein to do my job with freedom and creativity. We were both really happy with how these turned out. If you’re in the area, be sure to go and check out this epic show. It’s set across 3 floors of a Georgian townhouse. A stunning looking gallery and it’s poised to host an equally stunning body of work. Robs talent is plain to see. Working all of these paintings in situ, he has an incredible eye and palette and to fix a moment in time when the elements and light are continually shifting is a skill to behold. To do it all in his own unique voice is something else. It was a pleasure to frame your work Rob! Good luck with your final preparations.
