To All Eligible CBFF2026 Screened Short Films!
BAFTA are now accepting entries into the British Short Film and British Short Animation categories for the 2027 EE BAFTA Film Awards until 30 September. British Shorts under 40 minutes are eligible, so long as they have screened at two festivals on the Qualifying Festival list for British Short Film, and one festival for British Short Animation, and received their first festival screening since 1 June 2025.

The full rules and guidelines can be found at bafta.org/awards/film-rules, and the BAFTA team can be reached at [email protected] if you have any questions about entry or eligibility.

# # An Audience with Marc Evans hosted by Stifyn Parri # #

is nearly here and as part of this year's festival we are excited to annouce that on the evening of Tuesday 19th May, the acclaimed director Marc Evans will join us for a special screening of his BAFTA nominated 'Mr Burton'. Based on a remarkable true story, discover how the poor son of a miner became one of the greatest actors the world has ever known, with the help of an unlikely mentor.

Ahead of the screening of this multi-award-winning film, Marc Evans will be in conversation with entertainer and Carmarthen Bay Film Festival Creative Producer Stifyn Parri, exploring the making of Mr Burton, Evans’ career, and the stories behind the screen. Promising to be an inspiring and insightful session, the event will be particularly valuable for those looking to break into the film and televisión industry.
